Transcript

Greetings, and welcome back to our series on the importance of staying warm in the winter. Last time, we talked about how space heaters can help protect you from hypothermia. Now, let’s look at how you can reduce your risk of contracting frostbite.

Frostbite occurs when parts of your body freeze¬†due to extremely low temperatures and wind chills. It usually affects areas that are exposed to the air, like your face, ears and hands. If you think you’re experiencing this, make sure to heat the frostbitten areas immediately by finding a warm place and wrapping them in blankets. It’s also a good idea to seek medical attention.

Avoid frostbite by wearing many layers of clothing. Try using personal portable heaters to ensure maximum warmth.

Thanks for listening. Tune back in soon for more helpful information.
